Architectural Elements

My expertise in architectural carving includes millwork which requires geometric accuracy, such as Ionic volutes, compound radiused handrails, or patterns for metal and plaster casting.  I also carve elements enhanced by an interpretive approach such as floral garlands, acanthus foliage, and figurative sculpture.

Relying on my extensive knowledge of historical ornament, I attempt to preserve the integrity of classical and medieval ornament, but am well-versed in the many styles of Western art, such as Greek, Roman, Byzantine, Romanesque, Gothic, Elizabethan (English Renaissance) Jacobean,  Georgian, Roccoco, and the various revivals of the 19th century,  the Aesthetic Movement, Art Nouveau, and Art Deco.
